Explore Nutrition and Exercise With Your Children

This program teaches you both about nutrition and fitness

Exploring Nutrition with ChildrenFit Kids is a six-week food and fitness program for children ages 9-13 and their parents, offered by Lehigh Valley Hospital and the Hanover Township Community Center. Each week you will explore food strategies to develop high energy, prevent disease and overweight with fun activities and snacks. In the “body” portion of your journey, you will be able to sample everything from kickboxing and strength training to tai chi and yoga.

This program focuses on gradual, long-term behavioral changes in health and fitness, and does not include weekly weigh-ins or measurements. Children are introduced to a variety of activities and learn how to incorporate activity into their daily routines. You’ll learn how to read a food label, modify recipes and develop strategies for dining out and going to parties.

Expeditions are held several times a year in October, March and May.

Cost for one child and one parent:
$79 - Hanover Township Members
$89 - Non Members

Supplies: Each member will need comfortable workout clothes, sneakers and a water bottle.
